Interlock & hardscaping

Driveways, walkways, patios and steps that don't sink, heave or wash out.

Almost every failed interlock project we get called in to fix comes back to one thing: the base wasn’t built right. Most installs we see have three to four inches of granular base under the pavers. We do eight to twelve, compacted in lifts, with edge restraint set into compacted ground — not floated on top after the fact. That’s the difference between a Mississauga or Burlington interlock driveway that looks the same in ten years and one that needs work at year three. Polymeric sand goes in clean, joints get swept and water-set, and the surface gets sealed in a separate visit once everything’s had time to settle. The pavers themselves — Techo-Bloc, Permacon, Unilock — are all built for the GTA climate; the base prep is what makes them last.

The work most contractors get wrong on interlock is the base. Skimp on excavation depth or compaction and the surface heaves with the first frost cycle. We dig deep, compact in lifts, and use the right base material for the use — driveways, walkways and patios all get different specs.

Common questions

Interlock & hardscaping — FAQs.

  1. 01 Do you warranty your work?

Two-year workmanship warranty on everything we install. Manufacturer warranties on products carry through to you. If something fails because of how we built it, we come back and fix it — that's the deal.

  2. 02 How far out are you booked?

Usually 4–8 weeks for a start date, though that shifts with the season. Smaller projects (a bathroom, a deck) can sometimes slot in sooner. Call us and we'll be straight about what we can fit.
